Course Description Learn how to set up a commercial fireworks display. If you are pursuing PGI Display Operator Certification, you must attend all parts of the class and pass the exam. This is an accepted safety course for licensing in some states and is recommended for anyone who wants to increase their knowledge of current NFPA regulations, requirements, and safety protocols for commercial fireworks displays. The class will consist of a lecture followed by hands-on field work including manually igniting shells and common shell failure demonstrations, and an exam. The latest edition of the PGI Display Operator Course book will be used for this class and is yours to keep as a reference following the class. Class check in begins at 8am and the class will start promptly at 8;30am. Lunch and snacks will be provided. Pre-registration is required.

Flame retardant layers and boots are recommended for the outdoor portion of the class. Hot, cold, wet, windy weather and/or muddy ground is always possible in Colorado, so be prepared. It is highly recommended to bring a pen, pencil, clip board or other hard surface to write on, highlighter, and paper for taking notes as we typically don’t have tables.
