Membership

Become a member of PGI today! We are the largest fireworks club in the world, with thousands of members in the United States and more than 25 other countries. We welcome new members all the time. Whether you are a fireworks professional, a passionate hobbyist, or just love watching and supporting fireworks displays, you will find a place here in the PGI. We welcome families, too, and offer Junior memberships to youth aged 6 to 17.

Here are some of the things you can enjoy when you become a PGI member:

The Fireworks Community – Enjoy unique opportunities to socialize and network with other enthusiasts and professionals who share your passion for pyrotechnics.

The PGI Bulletin – Our full-color journal, published five times a year, is filled with information about activities, upcoming events, and informative articles by fireworks experts.

Annual Convention – Members and their families can register to attend our week-long celebration of fireworks held every summer. Thousands of people meet to enjoy seminars, hands-on training, access to vendors, plus nightly open-shooting events, world-class displays, and daily awards.

Make Your Own Fireworks – Learn everything you need to know about fireworks safety, design, building, finishing, and licensing, as well as legal storage and transportation—and then shoot your own fireworks in open shooting events!

Fireworks Display Techniques and Experience – Learn to create professional fireworks displays through education and hands-on practice in PGI’s Display Operator Course, including principles of safety, design and artistry, and legal and insurance requirements.

HOW TO BECOME A PGI MEMBER

To become a member of PGI, please complete our online membership application. In addition to our affordable regular membership, we offer Junior memberships for youth under the age of 18 and discounts for renewing members. We also offer a lifetime membership option. All memberships include a subscription to the PGI Bulletin.

Membership Levels and Rates

Regular and Junior memberships renew on an annual basis. Lifetime members make a one-time payment and never need to renew.

Junior memberships are available to children of members and other sponsored children under the age of 18. 

Family Groups

All memberships are individual memberships. Multiple people in the same family can join PGI as individuals and event registrations can be managed together as a family group.

PGI members can also bring immediate family who are not PGI members to PGI events as authorized guests. At least one adult member of a family group must be a member in good standing for other immediate family members to attend.

NOTE: PGI’s annual business meetings take place at the convention each summer. These meetings are open to all convention attendees; however, only full members are eligible to vote on PGI business and in elections.

Membership Period and Renewals

All renewing PGI memberships run for one year (365 days) from the date the payment is processed.

A membership renewal will add one year (365 days) to the existing active membership period.

• Multiple years of renewals can be purchased at the same time, at any point while the membership is active.
• Multiple years of Junior membership renewals can be purchased in advance, but only up to the year the member turns 18.

All renewals must be processed and paid before the expiration date of the current active membership. There is no grace period on renewals if a membership has lapsed.

Members will receive an email reminder before the date their membership expires at the email address they provide in their membership application.
