BYLAWS

The Pyrotechnics Guild International, Inc. was incorporated in 1974 in Illinois. The organization’s activities are governed by bylaws adopted at the time of incorporation.

PGI BYLAWS

SAFETY REGULATIONS

PGI adheres to applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to pyrotechnics. PGI also follows and guides members in adhering to the strict codes and standards of the National Fire Protection Association concerning the use and display of pyrotechnics. Specifically, these include:

COPYRIGHT AND LOGO

The names Pyrotechnics Guild InternationalPyrotechnics Guild International, Inc., the acronyms PGI and PGII, and the PGI Greenman logo are registered trademarks of the Pyrotechnics Guild International, Inc., and may not be used without permission of the PGI Board of Directors.

PGI members have permission to display the PGI name and/or acronym on a personal or business website or at their place of business to indicate their membership in the organization as long as their membership remains active. (For example: “Proud member of the Pyrotechnics Guild International”) For any other use, such as on crew t-shirts or publications, members must first request permission by contacting the Vice President of Communications.

For all other commercial uses by both PGI members and non-members—such as on merchandise or publications to be sold to pyro enthusiasts—vendors must first contact the Vice President of Communications to obtain permission to use the name, acronym, and/or logo. The request must include the following:

  • Which copyrighted element(s) will be used (acronym, name, and/or logo)
  • An explanation of how and where the element(s) will be used. For example: “on souvenir pins to be sold by my company at the WPA and NFPA conventions.”
